Maya and Mulayam: Share stage after 24 years

Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh and Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati shared the stage at Christian College Ground in Mainpuri. It is to be noted that the 2nd phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 has concluded on 18th April and the next phase is scheduled on 23rd April.
The rift between leaders increased considerably after the infamous Guest House incident that happened 24 years earlier. BJP and other political parties allege that this coalition is impractical after Guest House Incident on which Mayawati said that sometimes for party movement it is important to set aside differences and move ahead.
Mulayam Singh said that it is his last election and asked people of Mainpuri whether they would make him win or not? To which the enthusiastic crowd hailed loudly.
Mulayam Singh’s presence is even more momentous because before today he seemed disturbed by the coalition and even commented in Lok Sabha that Narendra Modi should be victorious earlier this year.
What Mulayam, Akhilesh and Mayawati said
Mainpuri is considered a safe seat for Samajwadi Party but today’s rally seemed more or BSP than Mahagatbandhan. It was seen that there were more blues than reds and green.
Mulayam Singh asked party workers to always respect Mayawati and said that he is deeply grateful that Bahanji has come to Mainpuri to support him. “Mayawati ji aayi hain unka swagat hai. Wah mere liye vote mangne aayi hain. Main unka ahsaan kabhi nahi bhuloonga”.
Mayawati also praised Mulayam and said that he is the real leader of Backward Classes, unlike Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is a pseudo-leader. She also commented on Modi’s Sharab definition:
“Aaj bheed main bina sharab ke hi itna nasha hai ki wah BJP ko jad se ukhad fenkna chahti hai.”

She also commented that Akhilesh Yadav is taking Mulayam’s caravan ahead responsibly.
Akhilesh also started his speech by thanking Mayawati. He also praised his father and Netaji Mulayam Singh saying that he is thankful for what he has done. He also said that today farmers are quite annoyed with current government policies. He said today trade and commerce have shrunk a lot. He said that Netaji should win elections by a huge margin and should be one of the biggest in the whole country.
